Obituary

Marshall Edward Camp age 85 of Parma, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children, January 30, 2024. Marshall was born October 18, 1938 in Kayford, West Virgina to Carl and Gladys Camp. He spent much of his young life in Madison, West Virgina prior to moving to Cleveland, Ohio when he was 15 years old. Upon arriving in Cleveland, he attended Lincoln High School where he met his long-time best friend, William Kohl. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. When his enlistment in the Air Force had ended, he returned home to Cleveland, where he met Yvonne (Proteau). They married 4 years later on November 30, 1963. Marshall loved working on cars and owned a Sunoco Station at the corner of Pearl and Burger Roads in Cleveland. In his free time, Marshall enjoyed his cars. He owned a drag car which was a 1955 Chevy Belair and two circle track cars which were a 1963 and a 1964 Chevy Impala that carried the number 184. Marshall’s cars could be found racing at Cloverleaf, Painesville, Lorain County, and Barberton racetracks. Over the years, he owned several classic cars of which he was very proud to share and talk with anyone about them. He enjoyed going to classic car shows and weekly cruise-ins. Marshall was an avid bowler and played in couples and men’s leagues. He had several 300 games throughout his bowling career. 
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents Carl Camp and Gladys (Cooper) Camp, sister Hattie Carol, and son Anthony.  Marshall was the beloved husband of Yvonne (Proteau) Camp for 60 years. Loving father of Timothy (Julie Dickerson) Camp, Shari (Jonathan Lutz, Sr) Camp, Rodney (Amanda) Camp. Loving grandfather of Carl, Ashley, Brienna, Chelsea, Jonathan Jr, Melanie, Sierra, and Tyler. Loving great grandfather of Alice, Paige and Halley. Dearest brother of Rebecca (Camp) Suttles and William Kohl.
 
Funeral Services and Military Honors will be held
Monday, February 5, 2024, 12 Noon
at Bethel Lutheran Church,
7171 Pearl Rd, Middleburg Hts, Ohio 44130
Where family will receive friends from 10am until time of services. 
A memorial luncheon will be held immediately following services.
 
Marshall will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery 
Wednesday, February 7th, 10am
